Shallow landslide barriers are an engineered alternative to traditional civil structures as they can be constructed on slopes and in locations with limited access. They're dynamic flexible systems tested to take rockfall impacts while being designed with a more robust structure than rockfall barriers to manage the higher forces applied during a landslide or debris flow event.
